ZanyonLocker uses AES-256 (Advanced Encryption Standard) to securely encrypt your data for privacy.
🖥️ User Interface
ZanyonLocker runs on the user interface named ZanyonUI. It is a modern type of UI that uses Mica/Aero effects and glass effects with smooth animations and fluid colours. It is a UI, not a framework!
Latest ZanyonUI version: ZanyonUI 1.0 Beta (in ZanyonLocker v4.0), ZanyonUI 1.0 will be in ZanyonLocker v5.0.
🛡 How To Use ZanyonLocker
To encrypt your first file using ZanyonLocker, follow these steps in order. First, run the zl_setup.exe installer to set up ZanyonLocker on your PC, then open the application from your Start Menu, Desktop shortcut or by right-clicking a file in Windows Explorer.
When the main window opens, you will see three main steps. First, click Set up a password. A window will pop up asking you to enter a password only YOU know.
After setting your password, you can proceed to the second step: Encrypt a file. When prompted, enter the password you created. A File Explorer window will pop up allowing you to select any file or folder to encrypt. Once selected, the file will be encrypted and given a .zanyon extension (eg secret.txt » secret.txt.zanyon).
To decrypt a file, open ZanyonLocker and click Decrypt a file. Enter your password when prompted, select the encrypted .zanyon file in the File Explorer window, and it will be restored to its original state (eg secret.txt.zanyon » secret.txt). You can also configure app preferences, toggle dark mode or check for live updates directly from the Settings gear icon in the top-left header.

Note: These are minimum requirements, meaning, for example it says at least Windows 10, 22H2, but if you don't have an old version like that and you have a later version, that is perfect. If it meets all Requirements, then ZanyonLocker will run perfectly. More Space = Faster Encryption.
How To Check Your PC Info To See Whether ZanyonLocker Can Run On It
First, press Windows Key + R on your keyboard. Then, type msinfo32 and press enter. This will give you all the specs of your PC.

This release of ZanyonLocker, v4.0, was meant to be a major update for ZanyonLocker but I had to rush in one day and it was minor instead.
🔵 What's new
- New and improved UI: Instead of a generic UI, I have officially launched ZanyonUI 1.0 Beta, which is the official UI for ZanyonLocker starting from ZanyonLocker v4.0 which doesn't have a difference from v3.0's UI, but ZanyonLocker v5.0 will have the new ZanyonUI 1.0 with Aero/Mica glass transparency effects, animations etc.
- New buttons: There is now a Settings button where you can configure settings for the ZanyonLocker app and view the details such as the ZanyonLocker version and the developer.
- Button change (minor): I have changed the Master key setup button to 'Set up a password' to make it easier and more modern speaking.
- Check for updates button: Now you can easily check for updates if there's a new ZanyonLocker release. If you are running an outdated version, it will tell you a new version is available and it will give you a download button. If you are running the latest version, it will tell you that you are running the latest.
- New Setup (credits to Inno Setup): Now, you finish a setup which lets you pick what you want to install with the ZanyonLocker app (eg Create a desktop shortcut) and then when it's finished, it launches the ZanyonLocker app for you. The setup is named
zl_setup.exe.
🟡 Unreleased features (in development for v5.0/v6.0)
CM (Compression Mode): This feature is currently not available and is in development. This will be available in v5.0 or v6.0, the next major update.

If your PC hasn't met the system requirements to officially run ZanyonLocker on your system, you might want to Upgrade your version of Windows, Get a newer & modern PC or Physically install a new RAM stick to your computer.
To find where your encrypted file has went, look for the place where the original decrypted file was (eg Desktop) and your encrypted .zanyon version should be there too.
If you lose your master key password for ZanyonLocker, there is absolutely no guarantee or way that you can get your file back. If you really need your file back and you lost your password to the file or forgot it, you can try looking if the master key file went into the Recycle Bin or if you hid it in File Explorer. Otherwise, there is no way to get your file back.
